Position Overview: Speech Language Pathologist for Early Childhood Development

Summary:

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) within our Early Childhood Development program, you will collaborate with families and their children from infancy to age three, delivering essential early intervention services. By applying evidence-based methodologies, guiding caregivers, and nurturing natural learning settings, you will enable families to progress positively. Your responsibilities will encompass evaluations, assessments, participation in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) creation, and tracking outcomes as part of a cohesive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Harc's mission and community support initiatives.
  • Ensure that services adhere to best practice standards.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess speech and language capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to team members.
  • Serve as the primary service provider for families.
  • Assist in the development and review of IFSPs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and child records.
  • Collaborate with community resources to support families.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions for ongoing professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between educational staff and parents.
  • Engage in training sessions focused on early interventions.
  • Coordinate IFSP review meetings.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Therapy and valid Connecticut Speech Therapist license.
  • Familiarity with assessment instruments and evaluation methodologies.
  • Understanding of special education regulations and procedures.
  • Strong grasp of family-centered practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
