Build the Future of the AI Data Cloud

We're seeking a talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Snowflake team. As a key member of our cloud engineering organization, you'll focus on using software-based approaches to solve complex challenges and automate solutions. You'll work closely with our teams to design, deploy, and scale our cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with our Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Architecting and deploying observability infrastructure
  • Participating in on-call rotation and ensuring uptime of services
  • Creating runtime tools and processes to optimize cloud triaging and limit downtime
  • Defining best practices around making our systems and services measurable
  • Working closely with our teams to ensure best practices are applied
  • Utilizing your deep experience and problem-solving skills to help prevent and investigate production issues
  • Planning and leading complicated technical projects that interact with a wide variety of teams within the company
  • Taking a data-first approach to help define the investments of the world's largest cloud service providers

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 15 years of industry experience in software development
  • Multiple years of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, or others), database systems (FoundationDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.), and programming languages (Java, Python, Go, C++)
  • Experience with time-series based monitoring/observability systems, cloud computing toolsets (Terraform, Vault, Packer, etc.), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Pulumi, Chef, Puppet)
  • Firm grasp of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting, good knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud computing patterns
  • Tremendous attention to detail and ability to build reliable and scalable software systems
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, solid interpersonal skills, and ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
  • Self-driven and motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving

The estimated base salary range for this role is $235,000 - $368,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan. The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, at least 12 paid holidays, paid time off, parental leave, employee assistance program, and other company benefits.
