Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dietitian, Bariatrics to join our team at DHR Health. As a key member of our bariatric program, you will provide state-of-the-art nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and diabetes self-management education to patients and their families/care-partners.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical/education programs that meet patient needs, in collaboration with other staff members.
- Assess patient nutritional status, diet history, and food habits, and provide written nutritional evaluations for surgical candidates.
- Teach classes to surgical candidates on proper nutritional intake and food preparation, and provide ongoing nutritional counseling.
- Participate in case management and patient care planning, and collaborate with other educators to identify patient needs and develop clinical programs.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and practice in obesity and bariatric surgery, and apply this knowledge to educational materials and patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational materials, and participate in educational seminars and support groups as needed.
- College degree in Nutrition or Dietetics; Master's degree preferred.
- Registered with the American Dietetic Association, State Licensure, required.
- Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish.
- Position requires travel, valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required.
- At least 1 1/2 years of experience in bariatrics or three (3) years of education/counseling (with chronic diseases).
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
- High degree of competency/experience in general.
