Role Summary: The Lube Technician is responsible for the lubrication and maintenance of vehicle components to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks as specified in the service order with precision and speed, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Promote and sell lubrication services, safety inspections, and additional related offerings.
  • Drain used oil from the engine and refill with the appropriate type and quantity of oil.
  • Replace oil and air filters as needed.
  • Assess fluid levels in vehicles and replenish as required.
  • Check and adjust tire pressure as necessary.
  • Apply specified lubricants to moving parts.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary components.
  • Report any equipment defects or issues to the supervisor.
  • Document all services performed on the repair order.
  • Engage in training programs sponsored by the manufacturer as directed by the service manager.
  • Stay informed about technical bulletins from manufacturers.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition and report any changes in appearance or condition to the service advisor.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work area.
  • Be responsible for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring they are returned in their original condition.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to hazardous waste disposal and safety.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

  • No prior experience or training is required.
  • Less than a high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
