Cloud Architect Job Description

Compunnel Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our team. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and stable database solutions using AWS RDS (Oracle/Postgres) and other cloud-based technologies.
  • Automation and Orchestration: Automate database management tasks using AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, and other automation tools.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with customers, deployment squads, and product management to document use cases and ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead database solutions by setting standards and offering technical expertise, and mentor team members on new technologies and automation processes.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement database security, auditing, and ensure compliance with monitoring requirements, and provide Level 1, 2, and 3 technical support, including 24x7 availability for escalation.
  • Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring: Conduct capacity planning and performance monitoring of database servers (CPU, memory, cache, logs), and support business continuity and disaster recovery plans during Business Continuity Plan (BCP) events.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Database Analysis and Management: Perform database analysis and management, including maintenance, enhancements, and performance tuning.
  • Database Administration Tools: Configure and manage database administration tools, and provide database support for business applications, backups, and access control.
  • Database Security and Compliance: Implement database security, auditing, and ensure compliance with monitoring requirements, and manage database account access and object changes.

Requirements:

  • Cloud Computing Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on AWS.
  • Database Administration Experience: 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle/Postgres.
  • Automation and Orchestration Experience: Experience with automation and orchestration tools, such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Leadership and Mentorship Experience: Experience in leading teams and mentoring team members on new technologies and automation processes.
