Job Summary:
As a key member of the Performance Team, we are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff to meet customer metrics and deadlines.
- Determine staffing needs based on workload and schedule staff accordingly.
- Assign tasks to staff members based on workload and shipping schedules.
- Review and update operational procedures to ensure they are communicated to and understood by warehouse associates.
- Track productivity and qualify performance by individual, function, and department.
- Collaborate with Inventory Control to ensure accurate inventory levels and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage payroll and benefits for warehouse staff.
- Provide guidance to employees on handling and shipping procedures, equipment usage, and related issues.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Issue written and oral instructions to staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols.
- Maintain a positive and respectful work environment, resolving conflicts and grievances as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Operations Supervisor will directly supervise 20+ employees in the warehouse operations area, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff, as well as planning, assigning, and directing work.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience and/or training preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and discrepancies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
