Job Overview: The Custodian is responsible for performing essential manual tasks related to the upkeep and sanitation of interior spaces and adjacent outdoor areas. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting furniture, as well as cleaning restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors, and other surfaces within various buildings across the campus.

Additional Responsibilities: This role entails routine cleaning and maintenance duties in academic, administrative, and athletic facilities, along with campus living quarters. Duties typically encompass:

  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Vacuuming carpets and upholstery
  • Polishing and dusting furniture
  • Cleaning restrooms and common areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness in academic and residential buildings

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal and written instructions.

Additional Required Qualifications: Must be capable of climbing stairs and ladders, reaching and lifting above head, and standing or walking for extended periods. Proficiency in using job-related tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies is essential. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment is mandatory. Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed are also required.

Preferred Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with a valid U.S. Driver's license.
