Job Title: Diesel Technician

PITT OHIO, a leading transportation solutions provider, is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at our Buffalo, NY terminal.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fleet equipment safely and correctly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tractor and trailer inspection and repair, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair fleet equipment, including tractors and trailers
  • Conduct failure analysis and repair or rebuild fleet equipment components
  • Inform management of housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices
  • Identify and inform management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs
  • Complete work orders and document repairs
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity
Requirements:
  • Two years' verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance
  • A valid state-issued driver's license
  • Must pass DOT physical and drug screen
  • A CDL, ASE, and State and/or Federal inspection certification is preferred but not required
  • Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of heavy trucks and semi-trailers
Working Conditions:

Travel may be required, and the ability to work a varied schedule based on need is necessary. Overtime may be necessary during peak periods.
