APluscare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Music Therapist to join our Day Habilitation team. As a Music Therapist, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging music programs that promote creativity, self-expression, and personal growth among our Day Habilitation Individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement music programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our participants.
- Instruction and Guidance: Provide individualized instruction and guidance to help participants develop their musical skills and talents.
- Creativity and Self-Expression: Encourage participants to explore their creativity through music and express themselves through singing, playing instruments, and movement.
- Progress Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate participants' musical abilities and progress, and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
- Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Therapy, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of various musical instruments, techniques, and genres; patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help individuals explore and enjoy music; organizational skills to plan and coordinate music programs and activities.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and move freely around the facility to actively engage with participants; lift and carry musical instruments and equipment as needed; good manual dexterity to play musical instruments and demonstrate proper techniques.
APluscare provides comprehensive training and development opportunities to ensure our staff are equipped to provide high-quality care and support to our participants. This includes mandatory training on developmental disabilities, abuse and neglect, medication administration, CPR & First Aid, and other professionally based training deemed necessary.
