Position Overview
St. Mel School, a co-educational institution serving grades Kindergarten through Eighth, is located in the San Fernando Valley region. We are in search of a dynamic and faith-driven Middle School Science and Religion instructor. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to guiding students in their spiritual and academic growth.
The successful applicant should demonstrate strong classroom management skills, organizational abilities, adaptability, creativity in lesson development, and effective communication capabilities.
Collaboration with parents, students, and fellow staff members is essential to foster an engaging and thriving learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
*Must be a practicing Catholic with a strong dedication to the principles and teachings of the Catholic Church.
*Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
*Ability to maintain regular communication with parents and guardians.
*Proficiency in technology (experience with iPads, Chromebooks, Zoom, Google Classroom, Interactive Boards, etc.) is preferred.
*Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience is preferred, with a proven track record in lesson planning.
*Catechetical Certification is preferred.
Additional Information
Three to five years of experience is preferred. A state teaching credential is also preferred.
