Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at DAIKIN COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES MFG LP. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for assigned commodities.
  • Provide analytical support in all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodities.
  • Maintain ownership of supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, and manage execution of SRM reviews.
  • Support global synergy efforts for the direct materials organization for assigned commodities.
  • Build and support a pipeline of cost savings projects for sustainable year-over-year productivity or cost down.
  • Track and drive dual sourcing initiatives for supplier risk mitigation efforts.
  • Responsible for execution and reporting of supplier contracting initiatives.
  • Support the Director as required on developing commodity strategy documents and 3-5 year growth playbook plans.
  • Weekly executive reporting on all financial cost-down projects for assigned commodities.

Nature & Scope:

  • Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
  • Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.

Education and Requirements:

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in a commodity management or strategic sourcing role preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
