About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer, PE, to join our team in the Pacific Northwest. As a key member of our Water-Wastewater group, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating water and wastewater projects for the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design engineer for municipal wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, pumping systems, pipelines, and collection systems
  • Coordinate multi-discipline design teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Lead the planning, evaluation, and selection of preferred alternatives for water and wastewater projects
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents
  • Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
  • Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner
  • Provide construction support services, including field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, and RFIs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline (focus on water and wastewater utility design preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Washington, or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months
  • 6+ years of experience with water and wastewater system design, including the design of activated sludge treatment systems, pipelines, pumping systems, collection systems, and/or CSO control systems
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to determine hydraulic system calculations for pump stations, pressure pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, and/or wastewater treatment plants
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling programs
  • Strong project management background preferred
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Interest in business and client development
  • Active membership and participation in water and wastewater professional associations, such as PNCWA, APWA, or AWWA (preferred)
