Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Person Nights to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment, creating teamwork amongst your shift and across shift lines, and leading by example to make things better for everyone associated with our company.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure everyone is aware of the daily workload and any changes.
  • Monitor doors and ensure they are properly prepared and closed following inbound and outbound procedures.
  • Work closely with office staff to ensure a consistent workflow to the floor.
  • Monitor pallet truck deliveries and verify Hot List loads.
  • Identify and address safety concerns or infractions on the floor.
  • Operate a forklift safely and productively, and assist operators with daily tasks.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and free of damages, and that pallets are properly stored.
  • Back up the supervisor in their absence and provide training and progressive training to forklift operators.
  • Promote teamwork and positive communication within your team and between teams.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to use standard office technology, such as a computer, copier/fax machine, and phone system.
  • Effectively read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong math and configuration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The ability to analyze situations and make decisions that benefit the company without jeopardizing employee health and well-being.
