Overview

Hendall Inc. is seeking a full-time Systems Security Officer to support the Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and verify security posture and policy for various projects, collaborating with Admins and DevOps to ensure environments are appropriately secured.
  • Develop information security artifacts for Federal government programs at the low- and moderate-level security categorizations.
  • Review and analyze information system audit records weekly for indications of violations and report findings to designated authority.
  • Responsible for reviewing security alerts, advisories, and directives as they are released and work with system owners, administrators, etc. to inform and implement as necessary to the affected systems.
  • Track and report level of compliance for Information Systems.
  • Review and analyze information system audit records weekly for indications of inappropriate or unusual activity and report findings to appropriate management and technical personnel.
  • Receive information system security alerts, advisories, and directives from designated external organizations on an ongoing basis.
  • Generate internal security alerts, advisories, and directives as deemed necessary and disseminate security alerts, advisories, and directives to appropriate management and technical personnel.
  • Implement security directives in accordance with established time frames.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Information Assurance, Information security policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in Windows and Linux, Group Policy, WSUS, BMC Remedy, Tenable Products, OAWSP ZAP or Burp Suite.
  • Vulnerability assessment, standard on-premises environments and cloud infrastructure.
  • ATO packages, and emerging standards.
  • Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD.
  • Certification in CISSP.
