Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operating system and its associated subsystems.

- Provide comprehensive system-level support for multi-user operating systems, including the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of hardware and software tools.

- Identify and propose alternatives for optimizing computer resources.

- Investigate and analyze information to draw informed conclusions.

- Collect and evaluate data on existing or proposed systems.

- Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade operating systems and their interfaces.

- Collaborate with technical teams, including networking, to ensure system connectivity and compatibility.

- Document system processes and maintain thorough system documentation.

- Responsible for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security measures as necessary.

- Engage in the development and implementation of monitoring solutions that align with business information flows and systems architecture.

- Recommend new technologies to enhance current systems and support corporate objectives aligned with Application Production Support monitoring strategies.

- Provide leadership as a seasoned technical resource, contributing as a team member or individual contributor.


Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience engineering solutions with IBM Tivoli Netcool Suite, including Netcool Omnibus.
- Proficiency in message bus probe/gateway experience and Netcool Omnibus probe rule writing, including regular expressions.
- Familiarity with the Apache Kafka Ecosystem, including messaging and log aggregation.
- Experience in fault-tolerant and high-availability design, with a Unix background.
- Understanding of ITRS Geneos/Kafka integration is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Netcool Impact Policy writing and XML is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk Enterprise, Microfocus BPM, Sitescope, and Catchpoint is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, monitoring, and shell scripting.
- Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET) and application/network performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across various levels are essential.
- A self-motivated individual with strong leadership capabilities and strategic thinking skills is required.
