We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Device Specialist to join our team at the New England Heart & Vascular Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to patients with arrhythmia devices.
Responsibilities- Analyze and reprogram various brands of pacemakers and defibrillators under the direction of a RN or EP provider.
- Analyze heart rhythms on the telephone and perform remote transmissions.
- Contribute to process and quality improvements and staff developments.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Course in basic arrhythmia interpretation required.
- 2+ years of experience in Electrophysiology or Cardiology Department; 3+ years in Cardiology Department preferred.
- Experience with cardiac devices strongly preferred.
- Certification or accredited training courses for Pacemaker setting changes strongly preferred.
- Proficient in electrocardiogram interpretation, including complex arrhythmias.
- Ability to recognize and treat cardiac device problems under supervision.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot cardiac device programmers.
- Proficient in anatomy, physiology, electrical conduction system, and cardiac pharmacology.
- Ability to work independently.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
