Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Engineer to join our team at Con Edison. As a key member of our distribution team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical distribution systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical distribution systems, including primary and secondary distribution systems, substations, and transmission lines.
  • Develop and implement plans for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical distribution systems meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect and evaluate electrical distribution systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop recommendations for upgrades and repairs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, installation instructions, and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical distribution engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including primary and secondary distribution systems, substations, and transmission lines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Experience with electrical distribution system design software, such as SKM PowerTools or ETAP.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and IEEE standards.
