The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to lead our manufacturing team in the production of our hypersonic aircraft. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and process capability of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead improvement projects to achieve and maintain safety, reliability, and process capability goals
- Collaborate with our engineering and technician teams to drive design and development of new and existing hardware
- Provide input into the design and development of new and existing hardware, and take a lead role in the manufacturing and integration of our current and next-generation vehicles
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations/implementation
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues, increase production rates, and remove waste from complex processes
- Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively communicating with and influencing stakeholders
- Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices through process improvement workshops, training, and information briefs
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, and implement in a rapidly evolving production environment
- Ideate and implement tooling and test solutions to enable high-quality hardware
- Be responsible for the manufacturability and introduction into the rate manufacturing environment of assigned products
- Contribute to design reviews as an expert in design for manufacturability, design for testability, yield improvements, supplier capabilities assessments, quality control, etc.
- Be the primary point of contact for the production of non-conforming products, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations, and corrective actions
- Work on process and tooling development/validation for new products
- Drive the optimization of assembly and test procedures
- Prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition from development to production, including assembly procedures, test procedures, standard operating procedures, schematic diagrams, bills of materials, suitable alternate parts lists, and mechanical drawings
- Lead continuous improvement efforts of established products
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in design and production of electronics hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a technical discipline, and at least 5 years of experience in design and production of electronics hardware systems.
The successful candidate will have experience with electro-mechanical assembly and subassemblies, end-to-end printed circuit board fabrication, high power electronics and/or motor drivers, and transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team.
The candidate will also have strong communication skills, the ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents, and the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
We offer a competitive salary of $150,000 - $175,000 per year, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment with a team of experienced professionals.
