Job Title: School Bus Driver


Description:


We are seeking a skilled Bus Driver to join our team at Lyon County School District. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as to extracurricular activities.


Responsibilities:



  • Operate a school bus in accordance with federal and state traffic laws and regulations
  • Drive defensively and follow safe driving practices
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the bus
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any needed maintenance
  • Establish and maintain a positive rapport with passengers
  • Deal effectively with and supervise students
  • Keep accurate records and submit reports at the specified time
  • Attend driver meetings and training sessions
  • Transport students to special activities such as field trips and athletic events
  • Substitute for other drivers as needed

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement
  • Safe driving record
  • Ability to read and speak the English language
  • Physical ability to lift and move students as needed

Working Conditions:


The Bus Driver will work in a climate-controlled office setting and be exposed to various weather conditions. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting.
