Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis of policies, legislation, and administrative actions that may influence Maine's natural resources, focusing on areas such as habitat conservation, water quality, and ecosystem restoration.
- Engage in policy research and develop supporting documentation for advocacy efforts, including memos and testimonies.
- Present written and oral testimonies to legislative committees and other relevant bodies to advance the goals of the organization.
- Represent the organization in various forums, including state commissions and environmental protection agencies, advocating for the conservation of Maine's forests and waterways.
- Collaborate with diverse coalitions and working groups to address strategic environmental issues, emphasizing technical analysis and policy development.
- Build and maintain a network of relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and other organizations, to support conservation policies.
- Deliver presentations and participate in events to promote awareness of critical environmental issues.
- Assist in the formulation of annual work plans and budgets in conjunction with the program director.

Qualifications:

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
