About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Observability Engineer to join our team at Retail Business Services. As an IT Observability Engineer, you will play a critical role in building, growing, and fostering adoption of our enterprise Monitoring and Observability capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the implementation of education, tooling, and process to realize the monitoring and observability platform strategy.
  • Expand the enterprise monitoring & observability platform to improve the availability & performance of our enterprise systems, reduce the operational support demand on our teams, and reduce time to market by improving the developer visibility and ensuring a consistent experience for our customers.
  • Integrate hardware, software, products & platforms with Monitoring and/or Observability tooling.
  • Education of existing teams on tooling, process, monitoring & observability best practices.
  • Support process improvement as it relates to Monitoring and/or Observability.
  • Learn and share Monitoring & Observability best practices.
  • Follow the guidance of senior resources to utilize existing technology investments such as monitoring, AI, machine learning, data aggregation and visualization, alerting/notifications, automatic remediation, etc.
  • Utilize existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD) tooling for Monitoring and Observability services.
  • Shadow Service Delivery to learn about incident management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with technical resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering concepts.
  • An interest in continuous learning and/or insatiable curiosity.
  • Experience maintaining a customer-focused mindset.
