Job Overview

The Parts Advisor will assist customers and technicians with selecting the right Harley-Davidson parts and accessories to enhance their motorcycles. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong product knowledge, and attention to detail to ensure customers leave satisfied and well-equipped.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
    • Greet and assist customers in selecting parts and accessories for their Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
    • Provide expert advice on parts compatibility, installation, and product features.
    • Handle customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Sales:
    • Maximize additional sales by recommending related products and upgrades.
    • Maintain awareness of current promotions and communicate these to customers effectively.
    • Meet or exceed sales goals and individual performance metrics.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Locate and order parts not in stock using the dealership's inventory system.
    • Ensure parts inventory is accurately logged, labeled, and stored.
    • Participate in inventory counts and assist in minimizing non-moving inventory.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with service advisors and technicians to ensure timely delivery of parts for service jobs.
    • Provide updates on backordered or special-order parts to the Service Department and customers.
    • Support the Parts Manager in creating displays and merchandising efforts.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Process customer payments, returns, and exchanges in compliance with dealership policies.
    • Maintain accurate customer records and order histories in the dealership's database.
    • Prepare and issue invoices for all parts transactions.
Qualifications

To be successful as a Parts Advisor at Reno Harley-Davidson, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of Harley-Davidson parts, accessories, and motorcycles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management software.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
