Position Overview:
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for assisting residents with their daily needs in accordance with established healthcare standards under the guidance of a registered nurse.
Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized patient care training program.
Certification as a Patient Care Technician in the relevant state.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports residents' personal care:
Assists with toileting, bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene tasks, including providing showers and other necessary care.
Facilitates daily living activities:
Aids residents during meal times, assists with feeding, mobilizes and positions residents, and ensures access to hydration and snacks. Monitors vital signs, records intake and output, assists with specimen collection, and provides end-of-life care. Addresses the comfort needs of residents and collaborates effectively with team members in delivering care. Aids in the training of new staff members. Utilizes supplies and equipment safely and efficiently. Maintains a clean and welcoming environment for both residents and colleagues; assists in the transportation of residents and necessary equipment. Responds promptly to residents' requests and communicates observations to the supervising nurse to ensure comprehensive care.
