Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Supervisor to join our team at IPEX Group of Companies. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the Materials Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the work of the Materials Team and personnel assigned to secondary operations (CNC, IPS, Assembly, and Repacks)
  • Manage the regrind process and raw materials inventory and organization
  • Order raw materials, packaging, and other production supplies for all departments
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure required materials are available when needed and coordinate purchasing needs with the corporate procurement group
  • Evaluate and continuously improve material handling and flow throughout the plant to maximize efficiency and reduce redundant work and waste
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the movement of waste PVC (Purging and PVC shavings) material for external customers
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures, plant standards, and safety rules are adhered to
  • Maintain employees' time related to the Attendance and Lateness Policy
  • Collaborate with departmental managers and HR in administering disciplinary action, when necessary
  • Prioritize problems, handle jobs, and employee issues, and ensure all employees are wearing safety equipment properly
  • Assist in staffing job requirements and evaluate performance for their team
Requirements:
  • A grade 12 high school level education minimum, Community College preferred
  • Completion of a Management Development Program, WHMIS Training, and First Aid Training is required to properly perform the duties of this position
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a continuous operation facility
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally injection molding
  • Knowledge of injection molding, machine operations, and quality control are beneficial
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to motivate people
