Overview

The Fitness Program Manager is a critical role at Excel Fitness, responsible for ensuring the success of our PE@PF program. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate and inspire members to reach their fitness goals while promoting the program to drive loyalty and revenue.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Fitness Program Manager is to design and deliver engaging small group training experiences that cater to diverse member needs and goals. This involves creating individualized exercise programs, leading sessions, and providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, tracking attendance and success metrics, and communicating with staff and members to foster a positive club environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully proficient in performing the role as detailed in the PF Trainer Playbook.
  • Available to train Planet Fitness members during all PE@PF small group training sessions.
  • Design individual exercise programs for each member based on their exercise experience, medical background, and personal goals.
  • Submit all training programs and workout logs to the General Manager (GM) for review on a weekly basis or as requested.
  • Inspect all equipment for possible malfunction or damage and report findings to the GM or Assistant Manager (AM).
  • Perform general equipment maintenance like guide rod lubrication, cable inspection, belt inspection, seat pad inspections, and equipment testing.
  • Log training session attendance data into DataTrack system.
  • Track and record PE@PF success metrics requested by GM/AM.
  • Monitor the primary workout areas to make sure that members are using the equipment correctly and following club rules.

Requirements:

  • A minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • A current Personal Training Certification.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Familiarity with the Planet Fitness brand, operational requirements, and company culture.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized individual.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Fitness Program Manager will work in a fast-paced fitness club environment, frequently lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and moving objects up to 75 pounds. The employee must have good vision, hearing, and physical stamina to perform duties effectively.
