Rotor-Wing IFR Strike Team Pilot

The Rotor-Wing IFR Strike Team Pilot plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients in emergency situations. As a key member of the Air Evac Lifeteam, this pilot will be responsible for operating company aircraft in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, and Air Evac EMS Operations Manual.
Key Responsibilities- Creates and maintains pilot information guides, including location, frequencies, and procedures for flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
- Conducts local area orientations as required and informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations of any issues with flight planning information.
- Operates aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, emphasizing compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
- Monitors weather conditions and forecasts, conducting pre-flight checks before each shift or transport.
- Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to the Operations Center in a timely manner.
- Ensures all operations involving company aircraft comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and state or municipal regulations.
- Performs housekeeping duties to maintain crew quarters and hangar areas, as well as washing, waxing, and cleaning aircraft.
- Submits all necessary paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
- FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
- FAA Helicopter instrument rating
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current FAA Class II Medical certificate
- 2000 hours total flight time
- 1500 hours helicopter time
- 1000 hours pilot in command
- 1000 hours turbine
- Minimum of 200 helicopter night flight hours (aided and/or unaided)
- 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
- Previous HEMS experience or equivalent
- 1 year experience with any GMR Air company
- H135 Experience
- Twin engine time
- Regularly reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
