Purpose of the Role:
The primary responsibility is to prepare, assemble, and install vehicle components according to specified standards for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble unit vehicle components and accessories.
- Interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders to comprehend customer specifications.
- Conduct tests on installed components.
- Utilize basic hand tools such as tape measures and specialized equipment.
- Acquire knowledge and operate all machinery within the designated work area.
- Perform rework as necessary.
- Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and may engage in RCI events.
- Transition to different work areas to meet production demands (cross-training).
- Effectively assist and mentor new and current team members.
- Adhere to established safety, environmental, and quality policies, including proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and care for shop tools/equipment.
- Comply with Altec's attendance policy.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Applicants must possess:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- The ability to read, write, and comprehend effectively.
- Basic knowledge of computer usage.
- The capability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
