About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admissions Specialist to join our team at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. As an Admissions Specialist, you will play a critical role in coordinating all admissions processes and serving as a liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, and hospital personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all admissions processes, including verifying insurance, triaging patients, and completing assessments.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for hospital and program information, assessment, and possible admission.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, staff, referral sources, and managed care organizations to obtain precertification.
  • Process inquiry and referral calls, and enter calls and admissions in computer systems.
  • Complete all admission paperwork with patients and ensure accurate data entry.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in psychiatric healthcare, preferably in a hospital or behavioral health setting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
