Ambulatory Care Manager RN

As a Manager Ambulatory Care RN, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in an ambulatory setting. Your expertise will drive the development and implementation of clinical and nursing practice standards, budgets, and staff development initiatives. You will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and evaluate patient care and quality service standards. Your leadership will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Kaiser Permanente's standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the delivery of nursing services and out-patient care, ensuring integration with business plans and meeting or exceeding cost, quality, clinical, and utilization standards.
2. Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve integrated services across the continuum of care.
3. Collaborate with SCPMG staff to design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results.
4. Ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
5. Provide ongoing staff development and training to ensure the highest quality of care.
6. Develop and manage budgets and resource allocations, monitoring financial performance and identifying strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care.
7. Collaborate with Physician Team Leader and Department Chief to develop patient services and day-to-day operations.
8. Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee, and department safety issues.
Requirements:
1. Minimum three (3) years of healthcare supervisory experience or other related clinical area experience.
2. OR: Minimum one (1) year as an Assistant Manager of Ambulatory Care.
3. OR: Completion of Kaiser Permanente Southern California Postgraduate Fellowship in Health Care Administration and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
4. Education: Bachelors degree required.
5. License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
6. Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Clinical specialization in area of practice preferred.
2. Masters degree preferred.
3. Anesthesiology or Perioperative care (Pre-op, OR, PACU) experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
24/7 Inpatient Specialty Unit.
Monthly weekend call.
Work starts and end shifts vary.
Workdays:
Sunday - Saturday.
