About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Art Instructor to join our team at MRC Industries. As an Art Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing a person-centered and safe environment for our artists to create and express themselves through various art forms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Artistic Guidance: Provide hands-on guidance and direction to artists in a wide range of art media, fostering creativity, innovation, and independent problem-solving skills.
  2. Progress Monitoring: Foster progress through positive reinforcement, modeling positive employment behaviors, and providing constructive feedback to enable artists to reach their highest potential.
  3. Community Engagement: Possess knowledge of current trends in art within the community and participate in art shows and events to promote the artists' work.
  4. Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate and up-to-date progress notes, work with customers in the store front, and be responsible for monies collected.
  5. Supply Management: Instruct artists in proper care and use of tools and supplies, and assist in the hanging and presentation of artwork for sale.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of one year education and/or experience in the visual arts.
  2. Artistic Knowledge: Must have the ability to balance the mission of independence with the objective to produce artwork with market value.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to write clinical service plans/goals and successfully communicate and problem-solve with service teams and participants.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Must have problem-solving skills and judgment sufficient to recognize and initiate appropriate response to emergency and non-emergency situations independently.
  5. Physical Demands: Able to squat, reach, lift, carry 25 pounds, and tolerate prolonged standing.
Working Conditions

The Art Instructor will work in a general retail store and art studio environment, with a flexible schedule to accommodate some evening and weekend activities.

MRC Industries offers a competitive salary range of $15.00 to $22.50 per hour, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
