Clinical Nurse I Role Overview
The Clinical Nurse I plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, this position requires sound nursing judgment and collaboration to develop effective patient care plans.

Job Summary:

This Float Pool Clinical Nurse provides direct patient care, implements physician orders, administers medications, and conducts diagnostic tests while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and compassion.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests as required by company policy and local/state/federal regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing.
