Position Overview:
As a Research Associate IV, you will oversee all laboratory operations under general supervision, including financial oversight (preparation and adherence to grant proposals), human resource management, and administrative duties. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations concerning hazardous materials and equipment.
Your responsibilities will include formulating hypotheses and assisting in the design of investigative processes. You will stay updated on relevant literature pertaining to clinical and research studies.
In this role, you may be asked by the Principal Investigator to undertake specific supervisory tasks as a Laboratory Manager, providing both administrative guidance and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor other Research Laboratory Assistants and Research Associates.
- Participate in project planning, troubleshooting, and execution of clinical and research initiatives.
- Provide various clinical and research support, including data analysis, hypothesis formulation, and programming.
- Coordinate clinical and research trials in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and funding sources.
- Analyze data and contribute to the preparation of scientific publications as an author or co-author.
- Assist in the development of grant proposals, publications, and presentations.
- Research, develop, and implement new laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Share responsibilities related to lab management.
- Orient new team members to daily operations and laboratory protocols.
- May provide system administration and maintenance for local workstation networks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a research laboratory is required.
- 4 years of experience in a specialized research area is preferred.
