Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify actual or potential health issues.
- Formulate nursing diagnoses to address patient needs.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing support staff to ensure efficient care delivery.
- Maintain professional standards of practice in alignment with the institution's mission and objectives.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in emergency nursing or two years in Medical/Surgical nursing is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS).
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 90 days of hire, with recertification every two years.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in assessing patients for various medical needs, including cardiac and respiratory distress.
- Capability to perform point-of-care testing as required.
- Ability to administer and document PPD tests as ordered.
- Knowledge of community health education, including NARCAN Spray administration.
- Familiarity with computer applications such as ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
