About the Role:

Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist or Addictionologist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, assessing, and prescribing medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement integrated healthcare treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide effective management of patient care, including evaluation and follow-up care.
  • Supervise a team of interdisciplinary medical providers (PA-C, NP).
  • Plan, organize, and provide ongoing medication management for new and existing patients.
  • Conduct initial in-person and telemedicine psychiatric evaluations, periodic medication management, and monitoring visits.
  • Timely documentation of visits and review of diagnostic test results with documentation of the course of action.
  • Renewing and refilling medication to avoid lapses in treatment.
  • Provide emergency face-to-face or tele-medicine counseling and/or crisis intervention as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies, case managers, primary care providers, psychiatrists, clinical researchers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and other members of the clinical team.
  • Educate patients in understanding the disease process and provide guidance on preventative practices necessary to manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Orders diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
  • Assist patients in identifying and pursuing effective treatment goals.
  • Identify the types and amounts of support patients require to remain independent despite acute and chronic diseases.
  • Maintain information on community resources for patient assistance and support, with support from team members.
  • Provide education, assistance, and support to family members and others involved with the patient to enhance awareness of mental and emotional illness and to increase their ability to contribute to the rehabilitation process.
  • Maintain patient records, treatment statistics, and other documentation according to regulatory agency standards.
  • Participate in oversight of the health, safety, and welfare of patients in the treatment programs.
  • Supervise a team consisting of interdisciplinary medical providers (PA-C, NP).

Requirements:

  • Residency program in Psychiatry.
  • Current and valid license to practice in the State of California and hold an NPI.
  • Full prescriptive authority and maintain current D.E.A. licensure.
  • Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) is preferred but not required.
  • At least two (2) years' experience as a Psychiatrist.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Current and valid certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

  • Usually works in a typical office setting.

  • Salary $250,000-$350,000; based on skill, experience, and tenure of your profession.
