Job Description

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking an experienced Academic Instructor to join our team. As an Adjunct Professor of Political Science, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the classroom or online.

Job Responsibilities
  • Instructional Delivery: Establish a supportive learning environment, effectively plan and prepare classes, and engage students through interactive teaching methods.
  • Course Materials and Lessons: Develop clear course outlines, standardized syllabi, and relevant assignments that demonstrate real-life learning outcomes.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Complete grade books, final grade sheets, and learning assessments on time, ensuring course and program learning outcomes are met.
  • Student Support: Maintain a paper or electronic record of student progress, facilitate meaningful learning, and promote student success through flexible teaching styles and work schedules.
  • Examinations and Assessments: Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess course objectives and submit final grades, attendance records, and other materials as directed.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A master's degree in the teaching subject area or a closely related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area.
  • Teaching Experience: At least 3 years of industry or business experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact successfully with academic and business personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience in an academic environment.
  • Industry Experience: 5 years of industry or business applied experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Online Teaching Experience: Experience with online teaching and/or instruction in higher education.
  • Diverse Student Experience: Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $660 per lecture hour for new adjuncts. This position is part-time, non-exempt, and exempt from benefits.
