About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to serve as the LTAMDS Array Integrated Structure Product Lead. This is a critical role that will lead the design, development, and integration of the LTAMDS array structure, power, RF, control, and cooling distribution, and miscellaneous array-level components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems related to the entire product life cycle, including proposal, design, manufacture, integration, and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs.
  • Supervise the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and deliver the final technical data package.
  • Employ transition-to-production practices and lead a design release into production.
  • Track, report, and meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product, including Earned Value (EV) management and Estimate at Complete (EAC) inputs.
  • Prepare proposal inputs on behalf of the Integrated Structure product area and interpret procurement and build status for the Integrated Structure product area.
  • Provide technical conscience and ensure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements.
  • Work with minimal direction or supervision, exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment.
  • Lead a small team of mechanical engineers when required and interact frequently with senior personnel, occasionally including external customers, on significant technical matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Experience with phase array structures, hardware packaging, and array integration for military or mechanical or commercial applications.
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
  • Strong technical background with high technical aptitude, strong leadership skills, and project management experience.
  • Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software and PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software.
