Job Summary
The Operating Room Technician, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, plays a vital role in the OR team by contributing to a safe and efficient environment for patients and healthcare professionals. As a Surgical Specialist II, you will be proficient in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures, including advanced procedures, and possess a superior knowledge of various surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, preparing, and implementing an aseptic and safe environment for patients and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with the OR team to ensure seamless execution of surgical procedures.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in surgical equipment and instrumentation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient OR environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program.
- CPR certification.
- Two (2) or more years of experience as an OR Technician in a multi-specialty surgery center environment.
- Surgical Tech certification (CST) must be obtained within the first year of employment.
