Job Title: Driver

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Driver to join our team at Covenant Living Communities. As a Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our residents to and from scheduled appointments, as well as providing support services as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport residents to and from scheduled appointments, including circuit bus, planned activities, and group trips, while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Operate assigned vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with receptionists to determine pick-up times and locations for residents.
  • Aid in the safe transfer of residents to and from vehicles, where necessary.
  • Utilize mobile telephones safely and efficiently to receive ready-for-pickup reports and plan driving routes.
  • Report any issues or incidents related to transportation, including changes in resident condition.
  • Perform regular safety checks on vehicles, including lights, gauges, and mirrors, to ensure unobstructed vision and a safe vehicle.
  • Assist office staff with various errands and tasks that require transportation.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • At least six months of previous driving experience, with knowledge of local and surrounding community roads.
  • Valid CDL driver's license in the state, with an excellent driving record.
  • For bus drivers, a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License in good standing.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures, with the ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Genuine compassion for elderly and disabled individuals, with the ability to interact with residents in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of lifting techniques, first aid, and other relevant skills.
