Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Technician to join our team at Wayne Farms. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and repairing electrical instrumentation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and repair electrical instrumentation and control systems under minimal supervision.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, diagrams, and schematics to ensure safe installation and repair of electrical instrumentation and control systems.
  • Accurately complete required documentation and records in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, and take corrective action or report to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Industrial Control Systems or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in repair and installation of varied industrial electrical instrumentation and control systems, with experience in PLCs and computer-based HMIs.
  • Knowledge of national electric code, operation, assembly, installation, and diagnosis of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently lifts overhead.
  • Walks in an outside environment (including inclement weather conditions) on a daily basis, ranging from one to several miles per day.
  • Works in an environment with strong, foul odors.
  • Frequently uses visual skills to inspect birds, production charts, and scales.
  • Must use smelling senses to distinguish irregular odors.
  • Frequently enters confined space areas.
  • Frequently exposed to heat (incubators are degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
