About the Role

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script, reviewing and documenting exceptions from established protocols.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as necessary.
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training.
  • Strong analytical and clinical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and follow physicians' verbal and written requests and prescriptions.
