Job Summary

Trinity Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology Oncology Specialty team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with hematological and oncological disorders, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, and management across the continuum of care.
  • Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to create tailored treatment plans, ensuring seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate Care Transitions: Facilitate smooth transitions of care for patients undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other advanced therapies.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and supportive care resources, empowering informed decision-making and enhancing adherence to treatment plans.
  • Manage Symptoms and Improve Quality of Life: Perform comprehensive symptom assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to manage symptoms related to cancer and its treatment, ensuring optimal patient comfort and quality of life.
  • Participate in Clinical Research: Contribute to clinical research activities, including protocol development, data collection, and dissemination of research findings, to advance knowledge and improve outcomes in hematology and oncology.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: Masters degree in physician assistant or nursing from an accredited program, current certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (ACNP, ONCC, AGNP credentials only), and ONCC and/or ACNP preferred.
  • Licensure and Experience: Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology required.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
