Position Overview:
As a Grocery Associate, you will play a vital role in the operations of the grocery department, providing support and leadership to grocery personnel, managing inventory, and ensuring productivity as directed by the Grocery Coordinator and Grocery Lead.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Deliver exceptional customer service, setting a standard for professionalism.
2. Assist in the daily operations of the grocery department, including training and mentoring staff, managing orders, and overseeing inventory levels.
3. Maintain grocery displays with a focus on quality, quantity, and visual appeal, adhering to merchandising strategies.
4. Implement price adjustments and signage updates as necessary.
5. Provide support across various departments, including Receiving, Night Crew, Dairy, and Beer & Wine, as required.
6. Uphold sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards within the department.
7. Ensure compliance with organic standards in the bulk department.
8. Accurately process transactions while cashiering, following established procedures for payments.
9. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a grocery setting is required.
- Availability for mid-day and evening shifts, including weekends and occasional overnight or morning shifts.
- Strong skills in teamwork, training, problem-solving, organization, and communication.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in cashiering is preferred.
- Familiarity with merchandising and inventory management is advantageous.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- A valid Food Worker Card is required.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
