Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Underground Technician to join our team at The Blue Collar Recruiter - Wilmington NC. As a Fiber Underground Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing underground fiber optic cables.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining underground fiber optic cables
  • Performing drop and bury installations
  • Operating and maintaining hand tools and digging equipment
  • Troubleshooting and resolving fiber optic issues
  • Ensuring all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of drop and bury fiber optic cable installations
  • Basic proficiency with hand tools and digging equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Background check
  • Drug test
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • US Citizen/Green Card
  • US Military Veterans encouraged to apply

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in telecommunications or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience as Fiber Underground Technician or in a similar role is a plus
