About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team at the YMCA of Delaware. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring a positive experience for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain and keep building facilities and property in clean and orderly condition, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming, as well as gathering and emptying trash.
  • Restroom and Common Area Maintenance: Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers, and outside grounds are clean and safe.
  • Furniture and Equipment Movement: Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas, including windows.
  • Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist with setting up rooms for meetings and events and breaking down seating and equipment.
  • Supply Management: Ensure bathroom supplies, including toilet tissue, towels, soap, etc., are refilled.
  • Winter Maintenance: Be prepared to assist with snow removal during winter months.
  • Light Maintenance Tasks: Perform light maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Repair Notification: Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional Outdoor Work: Occasional work outside the facility to clean the facility grounds, including removal of debris and snow removal during inclement weather.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours, as well as lift heavy objects and climb ladders of different heights.
Requirements
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualification
  • Language Skills: Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
