Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Systems Application & Technologies Inc. as a Fabrication Specialist in our Manufacturing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and prototyping metalwork assemblies for US Navy experimental and specialized small watercraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in structural repair of various equipment, platforms, and components.
  • Perform welding, bending, and machining of steel, aluminum, or plastics.
  • Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work orders and utilize them to design and produce quality fabrications and prototypes.
  • Perform all work safely in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, OEM, or related trade school training preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience as a welder.
  • Current state-issued Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
  • All candidates must pass a pre-employment physical to include Physical, Drug Screen, Vision & Hearing testing, Medical Condition Certification, and a back x-ray.
