Position Overview As a Technician on our space production team, you will play a crucial role in the assembly, calibration, and testing of solenoid valves utilized in rocket systems. These valves are essential for mission-critical operations such as first-stage attitude control thrust generation, pneumatic stage separation, fuel pressurization, and engine ignition. Within our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, you will collaborate with our cross-functional production and engineering teams to achieve quality and timely delivery objectives. By participating in our Space Technician Training Program, you will be well-equipped to excel in your new position and embark on a defined path for ongoing growth within the operations organization. Key Responsibilities Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the products you assemble function reliably as intended. You must be capable of executing tasks as directed, adhering to internal protocols. Specific duties include: Product Assembly - Set up and operate assembly tools (e.g., standard hand tools, micrometers, calipers) - Assemble products according to written instructions and/or schematics - Conduct visual inspections Product Testing - Set up and operate testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure gauges, flow meters) - Operate high-pressure nitrogen and helium testing apparatus - Perform functional testing of valve products and document results - Troubleshoot and rework products as necessary Issue Management - Manage or escalate issues affecting assembly and testing, communicating with fellow technicians and team leads as needed - Identify and document non-conformances - Participate in corrective action processes Tool and Equipment Maintenance - Maintain all hand tools in proper working condition - Notify supervisors of any equipment requiring repair - Assist with maintenance and/or repair of testing equipment Minimum Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven mechanical aptitude Exceptional attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adhere to procedures Proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office 1+ years of experience in aerospace, mechanical, or automotive fields is advantageous but not mandatory High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school preferred Compensation commensurate with experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen Work Environment: The employee may frequently encounter conditions typical of a manufacturing environment, including fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration. This position involves handling abrasive chemicals. The role encompasses both a professional office setting and a manufacturing environment, utilizing standard office equipment and adhering to safety protocols. The temperature of the work environment may vary based on external conditions and operational processes. This is a full-time role with a schedule of 10 hours, Monday through Thursday. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on job demands. Some travel may be necessary for this position (5-10%). Physical Requirements: The employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. Frequent use of hands and arms is required, along with specific vision capabilities including close vision and depth perception. The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move throughout the facility.
