Teach and Mentor High School Students in Urban Communities

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a High School History Teacher at Uncommon Schools. As a member of our community, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and help them achieve academic success.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families to create a supportive learning environment
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current in best practices and pedagogy
  • Collaborate with department teams to design and deliver curriculum that prepares students for college and beyond
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs

Compensation:

The starting salary for this role is between $56,000 and $77,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement planning, and paid time off.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or related field
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience in urban schools
  • Demonstrated expertise in history education and commitment to social justice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
