Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Secure Embedded Architect to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical solution of a new secure capability for a using program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support leading the technical solution of a new secure capability for a using program.
  • Successfully interact with customers, program leadership, and peer engineering organizations to understand requirements, document use cases, and create detailed design documentation for junior engineering to implement.
  • Train and lead a team of engineers to implement and deliver those capabilities within schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develop and maintain technical design material, including that of the secure solution, for internal and customer consumption.
  • Provide novel technical solutions to complex problems and unplanned change.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates on risks, technical issues, and progress.
  • Interface with product owners and systems engineers to ensure technical designs meet customer requirements and are feasible within program constraints.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, a master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.
  • An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and supporting a secure embedded product, including applied cryptography and middleware experience (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS).
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting technical content to customers through both written and verbal means.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with good Agile (Scrum) team execution and principles.
  • Strong C/C++ background, Python background, and some knowledge in JAVA, JVM & RMI.
  • Experience with SW tools: Git, Atlassian suite (BitBucket, Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, static & dynamic code analysis (i.e., SonarQube).
  • Device Driver development.
  • Size and speed optimizing software for embedded platforms.
  • Modifying and integrating open-source software.
  • DevOps practices and tools.
