Job Title: Science Teacher

Focused Staffing is seeking a highly qualified Science Teacher to join our team at a reputable middle school. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 5 to 8.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum standards.
  • Administer and analyze assessments to determine student competency levels and plan for student growth.
  • Provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, goals, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff and parents to improve student outcomes.
  • Manage student behavior and maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Assist in the overall functioning of the school, including clean-up, program duties, and development activities.
Qualifications:
  • Commitment to the school's mission and values.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant field of study.
  • Current and valid Delaware State Teaching Certificate applicable to the subject/grades being taught.
  • Minimum 1+ years of teaching experience and/or working with students in an urban environment.
  • Coaching experience is highly desirable.
  • FBI Fingerprinting/Background Clearance REQUIRED prior to hiring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with parents, students, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and skill with technology and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, listen, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
