About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tribal Liaison to join our team at the California Department of Conservation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies and procedures that support the needs of Native American tribes and their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead tribal affairs initiatives across the department's divisions and programs
  • Collaborate with tribal governments and communities to ensure their participation and inclusion in departmental decision-making
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support tribal affairs
  • Provide technical assistance and support to departmental staff on tribal affairs
  • Represent the department in tribal affairs and provide liaison services to tribal governments and communities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of tribal affairs and a proven track record of developing and implementing policies and procedures that support the needs of Native American tribes and their communities.
